BITEG 2012: a Torino business, turismo ed enogastronomia a dimensione “social”

Business, turismo ed enogastronomia sono state le parole d’ordine a Torino dal 3 al 7 maggio, con l’edizione 2012 di Biteg: la Borsa Internazionale del Turismo Enogastronomico, il più importante evento italiano dedicato al settore che quest’anno ha anche voluto investire sui social network come strumento prioritario per rafforzare la visibilità delle destinazioni piemontesi e degli eventi .

Organizzato dalla Regione Piemonte in collaborazione con Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo, l’evento ha visto protagonisti nella prestigiosa cornice del Teatro Regio, 190 operatori specializzati nella vendita di pacchetti turistici enogastronomici : 100 venditori nazionali, in arrivo dalle varie regioni e 90 compratori italiani e stranieri impegnati in incontri diretti e personali tra domanda e offerta.

Il turismo in Piemonte è settore che cresce. Verso i 13 milioni di presenze con +3,88% sul 2010 e +58,7% dal 2000. Sono questi dati presentati dall’Assessore regionale Alberto Cirio, elaborati dall’Osservatorio Turistico Regionale di Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo.  In aumento sia il mercato nazionale che estero con oltre 4 milioni e 200 mila di arrivi pari a +3,92% sul 2010. Il segno positivo riguarda sia il mercato italiano che quello internazionale, con un buon risultato di tutti i prodotti piemontesi. L’incremento si registra quasi tutto l’anno, in particolare nei mesi di giugno e settembre: si allunga quindi l’estate, segnale di una crescente destagionalizzazione dei flussi.

Grande visibilità sul social network Twitter dell’hashtag #Q4T di Quality4Travel: in soli sette giorni, l’educational tour per 9 travel e food blogger a Torino, Genova e Milano organizzato da Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo dal 7 al 10 marzo per la conclusione del progetto “Promozione della qualità nell’offerta dei sistemi turistici”, ha prodotto un movimento di 693 twitt e 761.089 visualizzazioni, con le interazioni di 42.976 utenti.

In Torino the first Italian Convention and Visitors Bureau

Torino Convention Bureau was merged with Turismo Torino & Provincia, the tourist board of the city, in order to rationalize and make more incisive the promotion of the destination in the meeting industry and the tourist sector.

Therefore Torino will be the first Italian city with a Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as the most important European tourist destinations.

In the next moths a directory of local private operators will be established so that the private component will be able to participate in the MICE marketing and promotional activities. In addition, a board with pubic and private members in charge of elaborating future action plans, will be set up.

From 7 to 10 October 25 international buyers in the convention sector were visiting the area and its facilities. The 25 buyers – agencies, meeting planners, events and incentive trip organizers – from Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Belgium, have been guests on Thursday 7 October of representatives of the VCO Chamber of Commerce and of the Convention Bureaux operating in the area: Lago Maggiore Conference, Lake Maggiore Tourist Board and the Varese Convention and Incentive Bureau.

In September 2010 the town of Barolo celebrated the opening of WiMu, the Wine Museum. Located in Barolo's castle, WiMu is the result of a partnership between Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Cuneo, Comune di Barolo, Unione di Comuni «Colline di Langa e Barolo» and Enoteca Regionale del Barolo. Alba Bra Convention Bureau 2010: fam trips to experience the excellence of Langhe&Roero hills

The Convention Bureau of Langhe&Roero hills, after many sale missions in the main cities of northern Italy during the last year, is now preparing three educational tours between July and September. The planners are supposed to visit and know the structures in a direct way, which were presented to them during the first meeting: they are hosted and led through inspection visits to the facilities and the services providers matching their targets, in order to allow them presenting and promoting the area towards potential clients on their turn.

The hills of great wines, already appreciated from the leisure point of view, have recently entered the MICE sector thank to the network set by the local CB. Letting agencies experience directly these charming structures and personalized services is the best way to transfer the professionalism and excellence that Langhe&Roero hills represent.

Euroscience Open Forum 2010: passion for science in Torino

Nobel Prize awarded celebrities, scientists, researchers as well as young people, students, science lovers from all over the world, met in Torino from July 2 to 7 for the fourth edition of Euroscience Open Forum dedicated to scientific research and innovation.

Over 3,000 delegates and visitors from 80 countries and about 800 scientists attended at the event with almost 200 sessions held by the great protagonists of international scientific research such as Elena Cattaneo, the most famous Italian scientist on stem cells, Kurt Wuthrich, the founder of magnetic resonance and Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Peter Agre Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Anton Zeilinger quantum physicist and pioneer of teleporting, and Ada Yonath, an Israeli Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

The meeting was gained by Torino Convention Bureau in 2007 with the cooperation of Università degli Studi di Torino and Compagnia di San Paolo.
