As a result of a recent agreement signed with the flying company Ryanair with the aim of increasing the Spanish tourism to Turin and Piedmont, from 18th March it will be possible to find a link with torinopiemonte.com also on the website www.ryanair.com/site/ES/, in the box “Aeropuertos y Turismo”, where the writing "Visita Piemonte" directly opens our promotional website.

 

 

 

“BITEG” is back on the hills of taste

From 7th to 10th May BITEG, the International Fair of Food&Wine Tourism is coming back on the “hills of taste”. With this X edition, the fair finds its permanent location in Piedmont, in the heart of Langhe, land of food&wine excellence. It is organized by Regione Piemonte through Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo in collaboration with the ATLs of Alba Langhe and Roero, Cuneo, Alessandria and Asti, all involved in different events. This will be an important appointment both for Italian and foreign specialized operators.
The official presentation in Milan, on Friday 20th March at 11.00 a.m. in Palazzo Giureconsulti in Piazza Mercanti 2, 1st floor - Suite Affari 2.

TV campaign for Piedmontese mountains

On Sunday 1st March 2009, TV channels Rai and Rai Sat (Premium, Cinema, Extra, News 24, Sport+ e Rai 4) started broadcasting the TV campaign by the Region’s Tourism Councillorship to promote Piedmontese winter mountains.
With the slogan “In Piedmont the season goes on”, a 10-second commercial shows the top winter sports which can be practiced on the Alps: from downhill skiing, to cross-country skiing and snowboarding.

Tourism: the crisis exists, but it can be overcome

The ISNART-Unioncamere study on “The economic crisis and tourism in Italy: the role of television, cinema and Internet in the choice of holidays” was presented at the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo 2009 (International Tourism Exchange 2009). On that occasion, it was stressed the importance of serious monitoring activities, especially in time of economic crisis. To prevent being at the mercy of events and to find the suitable strategies and solutions it is necessary to produce reliable data and studies. Apart from the figures and percentages of last year unfavourable trend, the sector operators have also shown their optimism and willingness to react.

TOURISM ACADEMY, PIEDMONT KEEPS UP TO DATE

This appointment, which represents one of the most important events for the industry of international tourism, will be open on Thursday 19th at 12 by the Regional Tourism Councillor Giuliana Manica in our stand with the presentation of “Royal palaces, excellent food &wine and great events of tourist Piedmont 2009".

PIEDMONT’S “GEMS” ONLINE

After 18 months of work and collaboration among 6 European countries, the new European tourist portal www.discover-eu.com is finally online.

The website is the result of the project eTEN EU-Latitude (www.discover-eu.com) co-financed by the European Union. This first experimental phase involves countries such as France, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria, Tourist Bodies of Pays de Maurienne, Ville de Narbonne, Vilafranca del Penedés, Langhe and Roero, Dolomiti and Mountain Communities of the Bulgarian Republic, supported by three great international publishers such as Gallimard, Touring Editore, Prisacom El Viajero.

HOLIDAY HOUSES IN VERBANIA

After the meeting held in November and December 2008 in Bardonecchia, Alagna Valsesia and Cuneo, on Tuesday 17th February it is Verbania’s turn to host the presentation to tour operators of the results of a study on holiday houses in Piedmont. The appointment is at 11 a.m. at Villa San Remigio.

The programme is the following:

  • 11.00 a.m. Accreditation.
  • 11.15 a.m. Welcome greetings.
  • 11.30 a.m. “Mercati, scenari e profili. Trend del turismo montano” (Markets, sceneries and profiles. Trend of mountain tourism): presentation of data, results and most relevant characteristics of mountain tourism by Maria Elena Rossi, General Manager of Sviluppo Piemonte Turismo.
