Great interest was shown by international buyers in Piedmont’s proposals for 2011 celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Italian unification.
The event and the first tourist offers were presented during TTI (Travel Trade Italia), the fair held in Rimini on 24th and 25th October, after the welcome dinner offered to 600 operators from all over the world which saw Piedmont and its products as main protagonists.

Piedmont keeps on surprising: one of the most interesting and growing regions in the Italian tourist panorama, great protagonist of Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games, has set new goals. “The celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Italian Unification which will take place in 2011, the Holy Shroud ostension in 2010: these are the next great appointments – says Giuliana Manica, Piedmont Region’s Tourism Councillor – for encouraging tourist flows to Piedmont, which after the Olympic Games have grown steadily, by over 32% from 2000 to now”.

Piedmont Region awarded the international prize “Euromediterraneo 2008”

During “COM.Lab 2008 – Stati Generali della Comunicazione Pubblica in Italia e in Europa” (General states of public communication in Italy and Europe), at Re Enzo Palace in Bologna, Piedmont Region was awarded the International Prize “Euromediterraneo 2008” for the Road Show in Germany “Casa Piemonte”, defined as best institutional communication project in Europe.

Tourist expense in Langhe and Roero has grown – Food & wine and landscape, a successful couple

The food & wine incoming has generated 14 billion euro a year all over the world and also in Italy the importance of this segment has grown steadily in the last 20 years.

The hills of Alba, Bassa Langa/Roero, Acqui Terme, Casale Monferrato, Asti and Alta Langa in Piedmont play a fundamental role and have generated a 35% growth which confirms the importance of food & wine tourism in this area and the offer of products which represent the Region’s identity. In particular, tourist expense in Langhe and Roero has grown, and data confirm that the trend is still growing.

Piedmont conquering Germany “on the road”

The Chinese version of www.torinopiemonte.com has been created and so now five are the languages of Piedmont Region’s website dedicated to the wide tourist offer on the territory.

The project by Centro di Alti Studi sulla Cina Contemporanea - CASCC (Centre of high studies on contemporary China) has been presented to Circolo dei Lettori (Readers’ Club) in Turin.
